The project

The winning company is «Arquivio,» an architectural studio in Madrid, which managed to stand out in the competition among the 17 projects presented.
The new home project
The company «Arquivio,» winner of the project competition for the construction of the home, has erected a two-story building with a large front plaza that adapts to the existing space. «We defined the building at the end of the plot, thus generating external and internal spaces for public use throughout the year and, at the same time, eliminating any architectural barriers,» explain the project winners.
«The operation consists of creating a platform in the Access street, without any obstacles, placing a low-level building in the background, freeing up all this arrival space as a large place, maintaining a perimeter that withdraws to Tojardinad,» they emphasize. «Taking the specialty center at the bottom of the plot frees the facade line, where the future extension with another linear building of approximately 1,500 m2 from the built area would be located. This would be achieved with a ground floor portico, forming a central market near the oldest house that maintains its continuity through the bars.»
Based on this, the project is organized around two elements: a compact and linear volume with a large square covered porch. Finally, the building has a small basement with private access, natural lighting, and personal and facility areas.
