The work on Reina Sofía Avenue, between the roundabout of the three wells and the Plaza de Toros, consisted of creating a mixed environment with three distinct areas: artificial shrubs, gravel, and solids, as well as the implementation of new risks.

Marco Antonio Guijarro explains that «the new plantation is more consistent with the Mérid climate and species that do not grow uncontrollably have been selected to maintain visibility and safety in circulation.»

«The goal is to promote road safety and achieve a balance between ornaments and sustainable consumption, improving the median with low water consumption and less maintenance,» adds the delegate of parks and gardens.

Similarly, with these actions, the elimination of toxic herbicides in the urban environment and the inappropriate presence of vegetation that does not align with the environment is addressed.

The investment to carry out these improvements was an amount of 50,048.90 EUR coming from the improvements to the public road cleaning contract, garbage collection, and maintenance of green areas by the local council.
