The city of Cáceres will be present in Dublin on Thursday, June 5th to continue advancing the strengthening of economic, commercial, and cultural relations with Ireland.
Mayor Rafa Mateos will travel to the Irish capital as part of the commitment he made during the last edition of the Irish festival Supeadh and the subsequent visit to the Embassy of Ireland in the capital of Spain, where he sealed with the Irish atmosphere. As part of the planned program for Dublin, the reception that Mateos will attend on Thursday morning at the Spanish Embassy in Ireland at the Embassy of Ireland. Additionally, at 6:00 PM, he will participate in the event starting with the first edition of the twelfth part of the Irish festival that will take place at Urban Brewery in the iconic and centennial CHQ building on George’s Dock in Dublin. It will be the first time that the Cacereno festival officially appears in the Irish capital and will have representatives from the organizations of Cáceres and Ireland, facing international media, Irish event collaborators, and institutional representatives such as the Embassy or the Irish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event will feature around thirty musicians who will play live pieces to enhance the presentation in which the Mayor of Caceres will share with the audience both the importance of this event on the city’s cultural agenda and Cáceres’ commitment to achieving the cultural title of the European Capital in 2031.
«It is a unique opportunity for Cáceres to showcase its charms,» Mayor Rafa Mateos assured. «The cultural capital of 2031 requires international support and alliances, and in this line, we will work in Dublin, sealing access to the candidacy and presenting the main lines of the project. We will do it outside the most important Irish music festival that has taken place outside of Ireland, like the successful Irish Suplío,» he pointed out.
Furthermore, Mateos added, «We will intensify contacts with companies and projects that are developed in Ireland in an economic model with a technological base, very much in line with what Cáceres is already doing,» while highlighting the links that will be focused on educational, tourist, or heritage issues with different local entities during the trip.
