The celebrations delegate, Ana Aagagés, presented the poster announcing the 2025 Fair and Mérida, accompanied by the jury members of this edition: Rosario Maestre, Professor at the ‘EDARTEM’ Art Academy (President), Jesús Pizarro, Professor at the Mérida School of Art, José Luis Muriel, Photographer at the Communication Office of the Communication of the Communication of the Communication of the Communication. Murillo, representative of communication and the expert graphic design office in the city of Mérida, and Óscar Rueda, president of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations in Mérida.
Therefore, Aragonese emphasized that, in this edition, which includes the use of pictorial or graphic design techniques, eight posters have been presented, which will be exhibited for ten days in the inner court of the Mérida Municipal Council.
Jury’s Verdict
The first prize, worth 800 euros, was awarded to the «Monumental Fair» poster, created by Antonio Gómez Tena, from Higuera de Serena (Badajoz), through a design «We like the color contrasts, the typography of the poster, incorporating original elements such as the Chinese palace, the Roman theater in the background, and the origin and the Ferris wheel,» the president of the jury, very original elements.
Additionally, Maestre reiterated that «we liked the reflections caused by the buildings on the water,» so «we believe it is a colorful poster that will appeal to everyone.»
The second prize, worth 200 euros, went to «festive looks,» by José Ángel Ligo Martínez, originally from Zaragoza and residing in Alfaro (La Rioja), which, as indicated by Óscar Rueda, is «a very beautiful poster» made through artificial intelligence-based technology.
It should be noted that the competition rules for the 2025 Fair and Mérida event in the city of Mérida do not include rules that prevent or prohibit the use of artificial intelligence for design.
