Additionally, Fajardo highlighted the close collaboration with the city of Mérida, as they continue to see the conservatory as one of the city’s main assets, providing musical, professional, and foundational training that enables many children and people of all ages and backgrounds to be educated in music.
On another note, she did not want to overlook the «Neuroredes Project,» which makes the Mérida Conservatory open to individuals with intellectual disabilities of all ages through the Neuroredes Project led by Professor Silvia Núñez.
José Ignacio de Peña emphasized that this year the White Week begins with the Oscan concert on Friday, March 21, at the Congress Palace, with free entry. In this case, he invited all Mérida residents to attend this project «which has been going on for many years and offers the opportunity to listen to symphonic music performed by young people, in this case from the Mérida and Almyndrajo conservatories, through the Oscan project.

He emphasized that all concerts offered are free with complimentary entry until capacity is reached. He also mentioned that some activities are aimed at conservatory students, but reminded that «any interested person who wants to witness or participate should not hesitate to contact us and be offered the opportunity to be part of these activities.»
On Monday, there will be two training workshops, one with jazz saxophonist Sergio Albacete and another with jazz expert Juan Pedro Jiménez Apărioică. In this regard, he stressed that «jazz is very present in this program, as we are fortunate that it coincides with the MIT Jazz Festival celebration, where the Conservatory will have the opportunity to participate in these concerts.
As a novelty this year, he announced the creation of a conservatory jazz band, a project led by Professor Raúl Miguel that started this academic year and will be present at the festival and the concert at the Temple of Diana on Friday, March 28.
Furthermore, there will be a teachers’ concert, a documentary, and a trip for students to participate in a concert by Marta Argerich. He also highlighted Thursday’s events, including a parade featuring the center’s jazz band and a guest jazz band from Catalonia, «where we will take over the central area and end up in the conservatory square,» among other activities.
